Ukrainian drones struck a third Yandex data centre overnight on 11–12 October — a facility in Vladimir that houses the Galushkin supercomputer — forcing it to shut down completely and further disrupting cloud, payments, deliveries and other online services across Russia. Yandex said the Vladimir site had "shut down completely" and its platform was operating in emergency mode. Over the past week Ukrainian drones have hit three of Yandex's six data centres: Sasovo in the Ryazan region (7–8 October, housing two of Yandex's three AI-training supercomputers), Kaluga (9 October, partial damage), and Vladimir. The three facilities have a combined capacity of roughly 115 MW. Disruptions have hit Yandex Cloud (about 64,000 customers), email, taxi booking, food delivery, Yandex Pay and the Russian segment of TikTok. Yandex has advised cloud customers to consider alternative recovery plans and updated its terms to exclude liability for drone-strike failures. Russian Digital Development Minister Maksut Shadayev said the ministry is working with the Defence Ministry to improve facility protection — the Kremlin treating its cloud "iron heart" as a strategic asset.
