Privacy Policy
What this site does and does not collect from you.
In short: this site does not use advertising, cross-site tracking or
analytics cookies, and does not set any persistent personal identifiers on your device
other than a localStorage flag remembering your light/dark theme
preference (stored on your own machine, under key cd-theme, and never sent
to us).
What we collect
This is a static site: there is no login, no comment system, and no server-side application of our own. When you view a page, the hosting/edge providers involved may see standard connection metadata (your IP address, user-agent, requested URL, timestamp) as part of serving you the page. This site is hosted on GitHub Pages and, in the future, may be fronted by a CDN such as Cloudflare. Their default access logs and any privacy-relevant behaviours are governed by their respective privacy policies.
Cookies and local storage
- Theme preference โ
cd-themeis written to your browser'slocalStorageonly when you switch to light mode. It stays on your device; we never read it server-side. No cookie. - No analytics, no trackers, no advertising. There is no web-beacon or third-party marketing script on any page. If a privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics option (for example, a single maintainer-hosted counter) is ever added, this policy will be updated to say so plainly before that happens.
- Fonts and CDN assets โ pages load the Inter/JetBrains Mono webfonts from Google Fonts and, on the map/globe pages, scripts from jsDelivr. Those third parties may log the request in the normal course of serving it. We intend to vendor the largest assets (echarts, world map) locally to reduce call-outs.
What this site does not do with your data
- No account creation, no email capture, no contact form (reports go to a mailbox, not a form).
- No fingerprinting, no profiling, no sale or share of any data.
- The
security.txtmailbox is for vulnerability reports only; messages are handled personally and not used for marketing.
Email contact
If you email the security/disclosure address, we receive whatever you send. We treat reports confidentially and retain only what is needed to triage and fix the issue.
Changes
If this policy changes in any material way, the change is noted in the methodology changelog and reflected here the same day the site is rebuilt.
