NVIDIA and 36 Tech Giants Launch Open Secure AI Alliance to Govern Agentic Workflows

Summary

The launch of the 37-member Open Secure AI Alliance (OSAA) to standardise security and guardrails across the AI agent stack.

Details

In response to rising agentic security risks, NVIDIA, Microsoft, IBM, Cloudflare, CrowdStrike, Hugging Face, Palo Alto Networks, and the Linux Foundation have formed the Open Secure AI Alliance (OSAA). The alliance consists of 37 member organisations.

Objectives and Governance

The alliance aims to standardise security across the AI agent stack, covering: - Identity and authentication - Guardrails and permissions - Isolation perimeters

A key tenet of the coalition is that defenders require readable, local open-weight models to run on their own hardware, rather than depending on closed systems locked behind vendor APIs.

The NOOA Framework

OSAA marked its launch by open-sourcing its first major codebase, NVIDIA-labs OO Agents (NOOA), an Apache-2.0 research framework designed to monitor, audit, and govern agent behaviour.
